RedRick Technologies helps GRHealth Improve Radiology Services
Increased productivity, enhanced physician conferencing, and greater user comfort and flexibility are all contributing factors.
MOUNT BRYDGES, Ontario, Oct. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- RedRick Technologies, a provider of ergonomic radiology workstations, monitor mounting solutions and reading room environments, is enabling Georgia Regents Medical Center radiologists to address their patient care and business operations goals.
Having implemented a new Picture Archiving and Communication System earlier in the year across all radiology subspecialties, radiology department leadership recognized an opportunity to also enhance radiologist productivity. Layne Mitchell, Administrator for Radiology and Imaging at GRHealth, led the effort to gather input from radiologists and the PACS leadership team. Layne points out, "We took the time to gather as much feedback as possible from all users of the radiology reading rooms, not just the radiologists. We used this broad set of inputs to ensure our goals reflected the diverse needs of the organization and the customers we serve."
The department ultimately replaced 42 radiologist workstations across all six of their subspecialty reading rooms: neuro, body, musculoskeletal, pediatric, general X-ray and nuclear medicine. All workstations consisted of adjustable sit/stand tables, ComfortView™ Monitor Mounting systems, recessed data hubs and integrated task lighting.
After operating in their new workspace for approximately six months, Layne notes "The radiologists' responses have been very favorable, with many expressing increased job satisfaction as a result of improved physical comfort. The radiologists attribute this to an overall more efficient and individually customizable environment for both reading and conferencing."
"Increasingly, we are asked to help clients design reading environments that optimize radiologist reading efficiency by looking beyond ergonomics. The right workspace and reading environment can enable a radiologists to provide the best possible clinical care", says Greg Patrick, President of RedRick Technologies. "Ergonomic, well designed workstations optimize reading room workflow, creating opportunities for improved productivity and the clinical collaboration that drives improved patient care."
