RedPlum Launches Super (Savings) Man Search
In Recognition of Father's Day, Honor men who Save
LIVONIA, Mich., June 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Redplum.com, a coupon and value lifestyle site and a leading provider of deals and savings on brands consumers want most, is in search of a Super (Savings) Man.
While women are often thought to be the deal-seekers, don't discount men. They are savers, too. RedPlum's Purse String Study indicates that 81% of men spend up to three hours a week looking for coupons, deals and savings. As a result, 78% said they save $50 or more week. So how are they saving and what are they saving on? According to the Purse String Study, more men are interested in dining out, electronics, entertainment/activities and home improvement than the rest of the population.
RedPlum® is asking the public to reveal their Super (Savings) Man, share what super powers he possesses and how he captures the greatest deals.
From now until June 12, RedPlum is calling on its community of savers to nominate their Super (Savings) Man at http://www.facebook.com/redplumsaves to share stories about their saving ways and greatest deal. The Super (Savings) Man will walk away with a smoker, $100 worth of steaks and a $100 restaurant gift certificate. For nominating the winning saver, you too, will win a $100 restaurant gift certificate and $50 gift card.
If you know someone who soars to great heights in pursuit of a great deal – nominate him. He could be your spouse, father, brother, neighbor, co-worker or friend. In 100 words or less, tell us why he is a Super Man when it comes to saving. Nominations are open through until June 12.
Five finalists will be featured on RedPlum's Facebook page from June 19-26 during an open voting period. Read about how today's men are savings heroes. The Super (Savings) Man will be determined by your vote. The winner will be announced on June 28 and you will learn more about him on redplum.com.
In its first year, the Super (Savings) Man contest attracted over 1,700 entries. The winner not only used coupons regularly and enlisted other savings tactics but also planted his own garden and taught himself to can his fresh produce, extending his garden all year long.
