Redline announces major win in Brazil with the State of Rio's "Digital Rio" project

TORONTO, April 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Redline Communications Group Inc. ("Redline") (TSX: RDL) a leading provider of broadband wireless infrastructure products, today announced it has been selected as a broadband wireless solutions provider for the "Digital Rio" program in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The $1.8 million dollar order has begun shipment and should be completed by the end this year. Redline will provide its AN-80i broadband wireless solutions for the state run broadband program, which is being funded by Rio de Janeiro's Department of Science and Technology to increase digital inclusion throughout the state. The AN-80i solutions will be used for backhaul connectivity to a Cisco Systems Wireless Mesh network that will cover a 190 square kilometer area, with the potential to reach 1.4 million people. The AN-80i solutions will also be used to establish high-bandwidth connections between the schools within the "Digital Rio" project area, which spans many areas within the state. Redline's solutions were selected because of their ability to backhaul in point-multipoint configuration with low latency for time-sensitive data transmission, such as voice and video. The Redline AN-80i offers over 100Mbps capacity with industry-leading non-line-of-sight capabilities and ability to support outdoor wireless connections of up to 80 km.
