CHICAGO, May 22, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Redbox, America's leading destination for low-cost new release movie and video game rentals, today announced a new agreement with Warner Bros., that will make theatrical new release DVD and Blu-ray Disc® titles from Warner Bros. available to rent at Redbox seven days after their retail sell-through date.
"Our latest deal signals Redbox's steadfast commitment to making new release entertainment readily available to consumers across America, for as low as $1.50 a night," said Galen Smith, CEO of Redbox. "With thousands of new kiosk installations planned this year and next, Redbox remains focused on delivering the freshest content, at the best value, nationwide."
Redbox recently announced a national kiosk expansion that will add 1,500 net new rental kiosks in 2017, with more planned for 2018. By the end of this year, Redbox will have more than 41,500 kiosks nationwide, a total larger than the number of Starbucks' and McDonald's locations in the U.S. combined. Consumers can find kiosk locations at www.redbox.com/locations and retailers can submit requests for new locations at http://about.redbox.com/request-a-kiosk.
Redbox averages more than eight million rentals a week, and the company's iconic red movie and game cases make their way into 25 million homes, on average, per quarter.
