Each night of the "Freedom Fest," resort guests enjoy an outdoor concert on the Princess' Lagoon Lawn, with a patriotic introduction, followed by a concert and fireworks.
- Friday, July 1: Three Dog Night – Full of '70s feel-good classics, this band sold 50 million records including such hits as "Joy to the World," "Black and White" and "Shambala."
- Saturday, July 2: Zowie Bowie – Returning to their Scottsdale roots from their current shows in Las Vegas, this dynamic duo brings the crowd to their feet with today's hottest hits.
- Sunday, July 3: John Ondrasik, Five for Fighting – Ondrasik's talent brings songs with social messages and make an emotional connection. His Grammy-nominated "Superman" climbed to the charts prior to 9/11 and went onto becoming a song of a healing nation.
- Summer Saturday Night Fireworks – Every Saturday through Labor Day weekend, the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess presents a five-minute fireworks show at 9:15 pm.
To honor the military, each concert begins with a Presentation of the Colors and a flyover by the Deer Valley War Birds-4 Yaks. A Black Hawk helicopter will land at the TPC Scottsdale and resort guests may see the aircraft up-close and meet the pilots.
Like any great summer day, poolside is the place to be. At the 6,000 square-foot Sonoran Splash pool complex, with two, 200-foot waterslides, families have a ball with balloon tosses, hula hoop contests, poolside massage and even a visit from Uncle Sam on stilts. The new kids' camp, Bobcat Billy's Clubhouse, rounds out the entertainment.
Room rates for the "Fourth of July Freedom Fest" start from $199 per night. If staying over Saturday, July 2, there is a two-night minimum. The package includes the concerts, fireworks and any complimentary resort activities. A portion of the proceeds from every vacation package benefits Friends of Freedom, a non-profit organization that provides scholarships to military families.
