DALLAS, Feb. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Red Mango, one of the fastest-growing yogurt and smoothies chains in America, has announced it is expanding to Central America. Through an area development agreement with Nutrisal, S.A. de C.V., headquartered in El Salvador, Nutrisal plans to develop Red Mango stores throughout Central America. The first Red Mango store will open in San Salvador in March.
"This is a landmark international announcement for Red Mango, introducing our brand and our award-winning menu to Central America on the heels of our expansion in Mexico and Uruguay," said Miguel Foegal, president of Red Mango. "We have a great partner in Nutrisal, whose management team has an extensive business record and a true passion for our brand. That makes this an exciting journey to bring Red Mango to another rapidly growing market."
The first Red Mango store will be at the upscale Plaza Santa Elena in San Salvador, located down the boulevard from the U.S. Embassy.
"We are bringing to Central America the total Red Mango experience, a family-friendly gathering place with the very best award-winning frozen yogurt and smoothies," said Nutrisal President Luis Rosales.
Rosales, a successful entrepreneur with more than 50 stores in other sectors under his leadership, brings over 40 years of retail, marketing and advertising success throughout Central America to his newest venture. Opening the first self-serve Red Mango location is the beginning of a new relationship with consumers he knows well.
"Red Mango will resonate well with customers in Central America," agreed Joaquin Palomo, Managing Partner of Nutrisal. "Spending quality time with friends and family while enjoying a treat is a very important part of the day."
A graduate of Rice University's MBA program and Tulane University, Palomo's professional career has included stops at Hewlett-Packard, Bain & Company, and other companies in the United States. As a native of El Salvador, having experienced the sensation of Red Mango first-hand in the U.S., Palomo established Nutrisal with Rosales where both envision Red Mango perfectly blending with the customs in Central America of socializing and indulging over great tasting food.
Nutrisal will be importing and distributing all Red Mango products from the U.S.
