Red e App's New Office Open for Business
Historical Building in Hip, Growing District New Home to Louisville Startup
LOUISVILLE, Ky., Sept. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Red e App, the enterprise communications network for non-desk workforces, has opened its first office space in NuLu, the vibrant East Market District of Louisville, Kentucky. On August 2nd, Red e App not only introduced its open loft space to the community, but also on display was the restoration of the historical building that Muhammad Ali trained at in the 1960s.
"The energy of the NuLu district attracted us to our new office space in downtown Louisville," said Jonathan Ewin, Red e App founder and CEO. "The wide open space allows for stronger collaboration among team members and utilizes a building that had been somewhat abandoned. We are pleased to have upcycled a historical building for the growing NuLu business community."
The building was purchased by Gill Holland and his wife Augusta, who have been instrumental in turning a formerly economically depressed and run-down east downtown Louisville area into a thriving arts/design and sustainable district, now known as "NuLu" — a term coined by Holland. Holland's determination to turn NuLu into a thriving community is one of the main reasons Red e App decided to make the move.
After two years spent largely in public spaces, Red e App employees are looking forward to being able to have more consistent collaboration, creativity, and growth. With what the company has achieved before even opening their very own space, there is a very positive and optimistic energy consuming the company as it settles in to its beautiful new office digs.
The building housing the new office space dates back to 1853, and Red e App's space was renovated in 2012 and 2013. The renovation included a brand new roof and trusses built specifically for the building, and a stabilization of the building itself. During the open house on August 2, a number of photographs showing the scale of the building's renovation were on display. The renovations were designed by Architectural Artisans and completed by Shine Contracting.
Red e App's office is located at 216 South Shelby Street. For more information, check out http://www.redeapp.com
