ATLANTA, May 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Red Bull Radio premieres "Bruh with Awful Records," a new monthly radio show in collaboration with the Atlanta rap collective and label. Hosted by comedian and Atlanta native Zack Fox, the show's inaugural episode airs today at 6 p.m. EDT / 3 p.m. PDT with critically acclaimed music producer, film director, and Red Bull Music Academy alumnus Flying Lotus as its first guest.
On "Bruh with Awful Records," Fox picks the brains of a diverse cast of global guests and highlights the label's hip-hop, woozy psychedelic trap, synth-y romantic R&B, and trunk-rattling Southern bounce musical styles. Exploring the intersection of music and comedy, conversations will be akin to those from your friend's front porch, in audio form. Fox launches the show with Flying Lotus and the two swap tour life stories, discuss their film "Kuso," producing music for Thundercat, new music, and FlyLo's idea for a Twisted Metal movie.
Awful Records began as a group of likeminded Atlanta "weirdos" who enjoy partying, making art, and producing music. The record label roster includes a collective of hugely influential and ever-experimental iconoclasts – Ethereal, Abra, Lord Narf, Tommy Genesis, Archibald Slim and more. Awful Records have quickly gone from underground obscurity to internet-legend status, and this monthly program brings their trademark brand of drunken humor and offbeat perspective to a global audience via Red Bull Radio.
This first episode of "Bruh with Awful Records" airs immediately after a new live episode of Earl Sweatshirt & Knxwledge's show, Stay Inside.
To catch new stories and exclusive music on "Bruh with Awful Records," tune in every fourth Friday of the month at 6 p.m. EST on Red Bull Radio:

ABOUT ZACK FOX
Zack Fox is a visual artist, comedian, actor and writer from Atlanta, GA. He is best known on Twitter for his explicit and off-kilter sense of humor. His work is often described as absurd or nihilistic, with odd-angled commentary on often sensitive racial, political, and sexual issues.
ABOUT FLYING LOTUS
For over a decade, multimedia producer and film director Flying Lotus (born Steve Ellison) has enthralled both beatheads and casual listeners with his extraterrestrial forays into the fringes of jazz, hip-hop and the more electronic realms, and anchored Los Angeles' multiplying musical universe with his simultaneously genre-defining and -expanding imprint Brainfeeder. With five LPs under his name – from 2001's beatific beat tape "1983" through 2014's mortality-themed masterpiece "You're Dead" – not to mention his credits on albums including Kendrick Lamar's "To Pimp a Butterfly" and Thundercat's "The Golden Age of Apocalypse," FlyLo expanded his label to include a film division and made his debut with the divisive "Kuso" at this year's Sundance Festival. On the inaugural episode of Awful Records' monthly show, Ellison joins Zack Fox in the studio to revisit his first movie's reviews, talk tour life and joke about video games and wrestlers.
