RecycleBank Expands Reach; Debuts in Idaho
City of Twin Falls and PSI Environmental Systems Partner with RecycleBank to Make Recycling Rewarding for Residents
NEW YORK, Jan. 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- RecycleBank, in a unique partnership with PSI Environmental Services, Inc., announced that it is coming to Twin Falls, Idaho, this week. Twin Falls is the first city in Idaho to implement RecycleBank—a program that motivates people to take greener actions, such as home recycling, by rewarding them with points that are redeemable for rewards from local and national retailers, restaurants, pharmacies, grocers, and more. Idaho marks RecycleBank's 29th state. RecycleBank has a proven record of accomplishment, helping to double—even triple—recycling rates in hundreds of diverse communities across the United States and the United Kingdom.
"We're proud to further our vision and commitment to environmental quality and unveil our recycling program in a new state," RecycleBank President Matt Tucker said. "People are looking for creative and new ways to become more 'green' in their everyday lives. The people of Twin Falls join the more than two million who get rewarded for being green with RecycleBank."
In Twin Falls, the more a community recycles, the more RecycleBank Points participating households earn. Each time a household recycles, the amount is recorded and converted into RecycleBank Points, which can be used to "shop" online at www.RecycleBank.com for rewards from hundreds of businesses in more than 10 categories, including Automotive, Beauty and Health, Beverages, Entertainment, Food and Grocery, Restaurants, and Sports and Recreation.
Residents must register with RecycleBank and can then choose to redeem their points for unique coupons from hundreds of national, regional, and local reward partners. National reward partners include The Coca-Cola Company®, Bed Bath & Beyond, CLIF BAR, Yoplait, Staples, Barbara's, Green Works, and more.
"When communities come together for the greater good, they can accomplish amazing things," Tucker added. "By encouraging greener behavior through incentives, people will recycle more, helping to save precious resources. In addition, by redeeming the RecycleBank rewards locally, residents are providing a direct stimulus to local businesses."
