RecoverX is the Winning Startup in HYPE Foundation's Global Sports Innovation Competition Alongside the NFL DRAFT
The Winner was chosen by the jury that included NFL and Tech Companies Leaders
PHILADELPHIA, April 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- HYPE Foundation, a global platform connecting and investing in sports innovation, is announcing that RecoverX has won the "Sports Innovation (SPIN) Final" competition alongside the NFL DRAFT. The competition crowns the most innovative startup in the American Football and sports spaces. The startup was chosen by a jury of leading figures from the NFL, sports and tech world, headed by Mr. Rod Nenner, Vice President of the Washington Redskins. The competition took place at The Liacouras Center of Temple University, the hosting and participating partner. Additional partner and prize giver is Global Sports Innovation Center powered by Microsoft. This competition is the first out of 6 global Sports Innovation Competitions HYPE Foundation is conducting in 2017, alongside major sports events, among them UEFA Championships Final, British Open, US OPEN and Universiade 2017.
The winner, RecoverX, is a hardware technology company with a focus on providing innovative products to the injury recovery market. Its product plan to revolutionize how injured individuals currently use hot and cold therapy.
The top ten innovative sports startups were chosen from hundreds of applicants to pitch their companies in the competition, also broadcasted LIVE on social media. The SPIN Final jury was led by Mr. Rod Nenner, Vice President of the Washington Redskins; Mrs. Jennifer Langton, Vice President at the National Football League (NFL); Mrs. JoAnne A. Epps, Executive Vice President & Provost at Temple University; Mr. Tim McDermott, CBOr of the Philadelphia Union; Mr. Rich Green, Director at Intel; Mrs. Lorin Hamlin, Innovation Partnerships at Under Armour; Mr. Shawn Springs, Former NFL Player & CEO of Windpact ; Mr. William Mao, VP Digital at MP & Silva, and Mrs. Ellen Weber, Executive Director at Temple University Innovation & Entrepreneurship Institute and Robin Hood Ventures.
