Analyst Update: Pricing of Public Offering, Financial Resultsand Scheduled Earnings Release
The U.S. markets ended lower on Monday as the concern over Greece's precarious financial condition and China's slowing growth weighed on the investor sentiment. The energy index saw a sharp sell off on the back of weak oil prices. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 85.94 points or 0.47% to close the day at 18,105.17. The NASDAQ and S&P 500 ended the day at 4,993.57 and 2,105.33, respectively, down by 0.2% and 0.51%, respectively, for the day. The European markets too ended the day in the red on Greece debt fears. The FTSE 100 was down 0.24%, DAX lost 0.31%, and CAC 40 plunged 1.23%. However, Asian markets (excluding Australia), traded higher as investors cheered China's latest cut in interest rates to boost its slowing economy.
On May 6, 2015, Chegg, Inc. (Chegg) reported financial results for the three months ended March 31, 2015. Chegg reported revenue of $84.9 million for the first quarter 2015, an increase of 14% compared to Q1 2014 revenue of $74.3 million. The Company reported a Non GAAP loss of $6.2 million compared to prior year March quarter's loss of $18.2 million.
Dex Media, Inc. (Dex) announced its first quarter 2015 financial results for the period ended March 31, 2015 on May 7, 2015. The Company reported a decline of 11% in revenues to $406 million compared to $456 million a year ago in March 2014. However, the company improved its operating margins, which came in at 6.4% compared to 1.5% in the previous year comparable quarter.
INC Research Holdings, Inc. on May 7, 2015, announced the pricing of its secondary offering of 7,000,000 shares of its Class A common stock at a price of $31.00 per share. According to the Company, shareholders involved in the sale include affiliates of Avista Capital Partners, L.P.; affiliates of Teachers' Private Capital, the private investment arm of Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Board; and current and former employees of INC Research.
Career Education Corp. announced its first quarter 2015 financial results for the period ended March 31, 2015 on May 6, 2015. The Company reported a y-o-y decrease of 8% in revenue totaling $182.3 million compared to last year comparable quarter revenue of $198.2 million.
ANN INC. announced that it would release its first quarter 2015 results on Friday, May 22, 2015 at approximately 7:45 a.m. ET. The Company will also host a live conference call and audio webcast from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. ET on the same day, which will include comments from management and a question and answer session.
