Recent Change to North Carolina Law Prompts the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin to Take Action
Law Offices of James Scott Farrin adds Litigation Attorney and shifts resources to meet increased litigation demand to better serve its clients.
DURHAM, N.C., Sept. 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- In response to recent changes in the law which reduce the rights of those injured through no fault of their own, the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin announced today that it is adding experienced litigator, attorney Michael Garland, to its litigation team. Mr. Garland has over 20 years of legal experience, with a focus on litigation which will enhance the firm's existing litigation capability. He joins an already established team of litigators that includes Adrienne Blocker, Brian Clemmons, Marie Lang, Elizabeth Overmann, and J. Gabe Talton all of whom focus their practice on litigation.
"Our firm does not support any changes in the law which result in harm to the weak for the purpose of enhancing the profit of corporations," said Founder and President James Farrin. Ironically, House Bill 542 which was touted as being "...for North Carolina Citizens...," becomes law on October 1 and will in essence prevent many injured individuals from recovering the full amount of their medical bills through avenues outside of litigation. Consequently, the so called "tort reform" measure is likely to result in more law suits. "We are gearing up to file more lawsuits to protect the rights of our clients," said Farrin. As a result, the firm is augmenting its litigation capability by adding a formidable litigator like Mr. Garland, as well as increasing the overall quality of its paraprofessional staff to facilitate the increase in litigation.
Mr. Farrin went on to say, "We have an obligation to do our very best for our clients, and we believe that our enhanced litigation capabilities will make us stronger, more effective advocates for those who have no other option."
