Rebuilding Together Celebrates 22nd Annual National Rebuilding Day
Thousands of volunteers join Rebuilding Together affiliates nationwide to help homeowners and communities in need
WASHINGTON, April 22 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Rebuilding Together, the nation's leading nonprofit working to preserve affordable homeownership, celebrates National Rebuilding Day, taking place across the country this Saturday, April 24th. National Rebuilding Day mobilizes Rebuilding Together affiliates nationwide with teams of volunteers, sponsors and community leaders to provide major home rehabilitation for low income homeowners. This annual signature event celebrates Rebuilding Together's mission and brings immediate impact to America's communities on a single day.

This year 3,500 rebuilding projects will be completed with the help of over 67,000 volunteers nationwide. Examples of homeowners being assisted on this day include the following stories:
- Due to a devastating car accident, an active father became a quadriplegic; he will receive essential home repairs such as a wheelchair ramp, allowing him access to his home that was not originally built for a person with a disability
- A nationally-recognized veteran's center in Rhode Island, which offers essential services to America's veterans, will receive extensive renovations, such as ceiling repairs, apartment renovations and electrical and plumbing upgrades
- A hard-working mother and father with seven children, starting their own family business, will receive renovations to their home that ensures the children will live in a safe environment and that the parents, proud homeowners, will be able to invest their time and money into their start-up business
