The 12 homes undergoing significant remodeling and home improvement services are being managed by local house captain volunteers, who are professional contractors and all members of the NARI Greater Dallas chapter. Their expertise and experience ensure that the homes will be sustainable and safe for the families struggling to independently maintain their safety.
"The work being completed on these homes would not be possible without the incredible dedication of all the house captains, who are professional general contractors and members of the Dallas chapter of NARI," said Robert Moisan, board president of Rebuilding Together Greater Dallas and past president of NARI Greater Dallas. "These groups of volunteers have donated their skills, knowledge and unparalleled expertise to change the lives of homeowners and their families. We thank them for their unwavering support."
Rebuilding Together is proud to consider NARI one of their skilled trades partners, and since forging an alliance three years ago, they have partnered on countless projects across the country. Collaborations have included local Rebuilding Together affiliate outreach working with corresponding local NARI chapters, referral and information sharing, and strategic alignment with other industry organizations.
NARI of Greater Dallas is providing all the skilled carpentry labor and project supervision during Kickoff to Rebuild. In addition to their incredible involvement in this event, NARI has provided a large amount of the skilled labor and supervision at every event in Rebuilding Together Greater Dallas' ten-year history.
Kickoff to Rebuild occurs annually in the host city of the Super Bowl and serves as a high-impact event that engages members of the NFL community to assist low-income neighborhoods. The event unites hundreds of volunteers with NFL players and alumni, cheerleaders, local leadership, and other celebrities to rebuild homes, provide community clean up and restorative services. ABOUT NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REMODELING INDUSTRY (NARI)
NARI's roots go back to 1935 when President Roosevelt's National Recovery Act established the beginnings of NERSICA (The North East Roofing, Siding and Insulation Contractors Association). By the mid-1960s, NERSICA no longer reflected the membership of the growing industry and its name was changed to the National Remodelers Association (NRA). In 1983, the National Remodelers Association and the National Home Improvement Council joined to establish the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI). Today, NARI has 58 chapters nationwide and has enjoyed a sizeable growth period during the past decade. In 2000, NARI moved its national headquarters from Alexandria, Virginia, to Des Plaines, Illinois, and as the Voice of the Remodeling IndustryTM, continues to prosper. NARI's Core Purpose is to advance and promote the remodeling industry's professionalism, product and vital public purpose. To learn more, visit www.nari.org
