Rebates Now Available to Massachusetts Homeowners for Spring Heating and Cooling Upgrades
North Boston business 128 Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electric encourages homeowners to take advantage of the latest efficiency upgrade incentives offered by Mass Save
BOSTON, Feb. 26, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Spring is rapidly approaching, and leading North Boston-based home services company 128 Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electric is encouraging homeowners hoping to replace or upgrade their air conditioning systems this year to utilize current rebates offered by the state's energy assessment program, Mass Save.
"Massachusetts was declared the most energy efficient state for eighth year in a row in 2018, and this is due in no small part to the phenomenal programs we have like Mass Save," said Ryan Williams, general manager of 128 Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electric. "We've already seen customers get $2,400 checks back this year for their new heating and hot water systems."
The 128 Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electric team recommends ductless mini-split systems for maximizing efficiency by minimizing the loss of air through ductwork, and they encourage installing smart thermostats to further increase monthly savings. Although some restrictions apply, current incentives include:
- Electric Air Source Heat Pump (Ductless): $1,000 per ton
- Propane Air Source Heat Pump (Ductless): $1,600 per ton
- 7-Day Programmable Thermostats: Up to $25 per thermostat (limit three)
- Wi-Fi Thermostats: Up to $100 per thermostat (limit three), up to $125 per thermostat on select brands (also limit three)
All applying must be natural gas or electric customers of Cape Light Compact, Eversource, National Grid or Unitil, and all equipment must be installed by a licensed heating contractor. Those interested may also qualify for Mass Save's HEAT Loan, a zero percent interest loan of up to $25,000.
"These rebates already create a prime opportunity to upgrade before spring and summer arrive, but Mass Save doesn't stop there," Williams said. "They are also offering no-cost energy assessments which provide custom reports detailing ways to improve your home's efficiency, and during the assessment they will install free LED light bulbs, advanced power strips, low flow showerheads and more."
