The MDVR is designed to be one of the most cost effective and highly functional camera recording systems on the market today. It provides both on-board video and remote monitoring capabilities, completely eliminating the need to purchase additional systems to address safety concerns. The system supports H.264 true high definition and runs on the Linux open source platform.
The MDVR is available in three distinct models: The MDVR-1, the MDVR-2, and the MDVR-3. The MDVR-1 supports DVR and GPS capabilities, allowing the device to track the location and video of the vehicle after the event occurred. The MDVR-2 adds in Wi-Fi capabilities, allowing the footage that has been recorded to be downloaded automatically to the client's server as soon as the vehicle is within. The MDVR-3 includes all of those aforementioned features and adds support for 3G cellular data networks, allowing the footage from the device to be accessed remotely even while the vehicle is still in transit. All versions store information on an SD card, making the feed inherently portable as well.
Rear View Safety is no stranger to the world of safety enhancing products for drivers of all types. The company recently introduced GoVue, the first back up camera smartphone app for the popular iOS and Android operating systems. The GoVue application is natively compatible with many of today's most popular back up camera systems including the RVS-020813. Once the smartphone and camera system are connected via a short-range Wi-Fi network, audio and video information from the rear of the vehicle is transmitted to the smartphone in real time. This eliminates the need for a primary monitor to be installed into the dashboard of the vehicle in question.
