Reappointment to the Board of the Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation
GATINEAU, QC, Nov. 12, 2013 /CNW/ - The Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced the reappointment of Dr. Gary Polonsky as Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation for a term of four years, effective January 14, 2014.
"I am very pleased to announce that Dr. Polonsky has agreed to continue serving with distinction as Chair of the Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation," said Minister Glover. "His proven leadership skills, along with his wealth of experience in management and education, are of great benefit to the Board and to the Museum."
Dr. Polonsky was first appointed as Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation on January 14, 2010. His academic career spans over 40 years, and he has also served as Chair of Trades and Technology programs at Confederation College.
Dr. Polonsky is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Golden and Diamond Jubilee Medals. He holds a Doctorate in Education from the University of Toronto, a Master of Arts from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, and a Bachelor of Science from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
The Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation is responsible for preserving and protecting Canada's scientific and technological heritage and for promoting and sharing knowledge about that heritage. The Corporation includes the Canada Science and Technology Museum, the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, and the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum.
