AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Realty Austin is lending a hand to support the mission of the Austin Chapter of Habitat for Humanity. Together with its team of agents, the company donated $65,000 for a Habitat House home build.
The Realty Austin group will volunteer alongside the future homeowners at the home in East Austin. A special "9/11 Day of Remembrance: A Tribute to Service" ceremony kicks off the new home build on Tuesday, September 11th. Habitat Board Members and Texas State Representative Eddie Rodriguez, will honor Soldiers, Veterans, Police, Firefighters, AmeriCorps, Habitat Board Members, sponsors, volunteers and homeowners for their dedication to our community and nation.
Jonathan Boatwright, co-owner of Realty Austin said, "Our agents have a passion for the work at Habitat. Because of this commitment, we are proud to help a local family realize their dream of homeownership. We have 100% participation from our company which speaks volumes to their integrity and love for the Austin community."
Realty Austin's home build project will benefit a local family of four pre-selected by the Austin Chapter of Habitat for Humanity, Rolando and Theresa Rodriguez of Austin, and their two daughters. The home is located near the crossing of 51st Street and Manor Road on Devonshire Drive.
Brian Sharples, Board Member for Habitat for Humanity Austin Chapter said, "We are grateful for Realty Austin's generosity. Through their partnership with Habitat, families within our community will be strengthened. Kelly Weiss, Executive Director for Habitat for Humanity Austin Chapter said, "The Rodriguez family is a hard working, appreciative family who overcome daily struggles and rarely depend on financial assistance. It is with great pleasure we provide this opportunity for them."
Realty Austin's first work day at the property will begin at 8:00AM on September 12, 2012, and continue through November. A dedication is scheduled upon completion on November 17, 2012.
