Real Resorts Expands its Commitment to Sustainable Practices with the Introduction of a Clean Energy Microturbine to Power The ROYAL Playa del Carmen's Energy Needs

RIVIERA MAYA, Mexico, March 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- In keeping with its environmental commitment, Real Resorts' The ROYAL Playa del Carmen became the first hotel in the world to use a microturbine to simultaneously help power all of its energy needs including hot water, electricity, pool and spa heaters, laundry support and air conditioning.  The microturbine manufactured by Capstone USA and installed by Enerxpert SA de CV of Mexico began generating power for the resort at the end of 2011 and will reduce the hotel's energy consumption by more than 48%, and also eliminates the necessity for emergency generators.

"The installation of the microturbine at the ROYAL Playa del Carmen is our latest sustainability measure as we continue to practice our Real Green Program across all four of our hotels," explains Ing.
