Real Hospitality Group Operates Three of the Top 10 Largest New Hotels in New York of 2012
Crain's New York Business cites the Top New Largest Hotels of 2012
OCEAN CITY, Md., Jan. 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Executives at Real Hospitality Group (RHG) announced today that three of the hotels in their portfolio were identified in the Crain's New York Business Top 10 List of the largest new hotels in New York. The hotels opened in 2012 along with 20 new properties in the New York market, as cited by Crain's. "Our portfolio expansion in 2012 will continue over the next two years, both domestically and internationally based on our present pipeline and signifies the strength of the hospitality industry both here in the US and abroad," comments Ben Seidel, President and CEO for Real Hospitality Group.
Hotels making the NYC Top Ten List include The Hotel de Point, an Ascend Collection Hotel located in College Point – Flushing and opened in August 2012. This beautiful hotel is part of a mixed use development which includes a 300 seat Asian Fusion buffet restaurant, rooftop restaurant and lounge and outdoor deck with sweeping views of the city, eateries, shops, indoor pool with aquatic wellness programs, Kam Man Foods, a 30,000 square foot grocery, and the popular KTV Karaoke and Conference Center. The hotel features many environmentally friendly design elements throughout. The hotel, ranked number ten on the list, is owned by Point 128, LLC and was designed by Raymond Chan, Architect.
The Holiday Inn Midtown South placed ninth on the list opened in January 2012. The hotel features 122 guest rooms, Contorno's Restaurant and Bar, rooftop deck, and is presently redesigning the lobby to further enhance the overall guest experience in Midtown Manhattan. The hotel is part of the Chesapeake Lodging Trust portfolio of hotels.
Ranking in seventh place on the list is the Hotel Indigo Brooklyn. This 128 room hotel opened in August 2012 as an independent hotel and completed the conversion to the Hotel Indigo brand in the fall. The hotel offers a unique design with art murals and decor inspired by local Brooklyn neighborhood themes. The guest rooms are clean and modern, and guests can enjoy dining in the restaurant, unwind in the second level lounge and maintain their workout in the fitness center. The hotel is owned by the Lam Group.
