Real estate all over South set to sell in major series of real estate auctions
ATLANTA, April 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Real estate investors will be the focus in a series of major events in which banks, hedge funds, investment trusts, investors and other sellers will auction more than 280 properties throughout the southeastern United States.
"This will be the best chance in a while for investors to load up on some great real estate, which will be offered in 125 property groupings," said John Dixon, president of John Dixon & Associates, which is conducting the events.
"A new Gallup poll found that 35 percent of Americans now say real estate is the best long-term investment – more than stocks, gold or bonds. That's a perfect backdrop for this series of auctions," said Dixon.
The series will begin at 7 p.m. Monday, May 16, at the DoubleTree Hotel, 2101 Dixie Clipper Road, Jacksonville, Florida. That event will feature a number of residential lots and commercial land tracts throughout Florida, as well as properties in Georgia and Alabama.
Two days later, on May 18, the company will hold an unprecedented two-event day, with auctions at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn – Perimeter Center, 1501 Lake Hearn Drive. The Atlanta offerings include prime residential lake and golf course lots, as well as several homes, a former church/event center in Talladega, Alabama, and a former CVS store in East Point, Georgia.
The final event, set for 6 p.m. on May 19 in Memphis, will be the auction of 140 acres of industrial land, which is selling absolute for a major national bank. That event, which will also feature a commercial building in Carthage, Mississippi, will be conducted at 5400 Poplar Avenue, Suite 200, Memphis.
Dixon noted that all of the auctions will be streamed on the internet, and bidders who cannot attend in person will be able to bid online. "This is especially important given the geographic spread of this real estate, because we're selling properties from South Florida to Raleigh to Chattanooga to Jackson," said Dixon.
