RBC Capital Markets, National Hockey League Legends and the Garden of Dreams Foundation Join Forces to Support Ronald McDonald House® New York
NEW YORK, Feb. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Hockey legends and New York Rangers' Hall of Famers, Rod Gilbert and Brian Leetch, hosted the 24th annual "Skate with the Greats" at The Rink at Rockefeller Center on Friday, February 16. The New York City staple event supports the Ronald McDonald House® New York, which provides a temporary home and support services for families and children who are battling pediatric cancer. The event, which featured skating alongside legends, food and a live, silent auction with signed sports memorabilia, raised more than $800,000 and provided a fun a respite to families staying at the House.

"Skate with the Greats" was founded in 2006 by Rod Gilbert and Brian Leetch in an effort to bring more awareness to pediatric cancer and illnesses. The participation of the New York Rangers is possible through a partnership with the Garden of Dreams Foundation, a non-profit organization that works with The Madison Square Garden Company and MSG Networks Inc. to positively impact the lives of children facing obstacles. Since the event's inception it has become a winter milestone providing an opportunity for House residents to enjoy a small part of what New York City has to offer.
