RB Employees Ride to Help Save the Children
WESTPORT, Conn., May 27, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Save the Children, the world's top independent charity for children, is excited to partner with RB, maker of Mucinex®, MegaRed® and Lysol®, to raise funds and awareness for the organization. On May 31, more than 220 employees from RB will participate in the Ride to Montauk, raising more than $100,000 for Save the Children.
"RB is one of our top global supporters and has always found creative ways to get their colleagues engaged," says Carolyn Miles, President and CEO of Save the Children in the US. "This race demonstrates the passion RB employees have for Save the Children and the company's commitment to helping our organization."
RB purchased more than 200 bikes to encourage colleagues to participate in the race and the company is donating $10 for every mile they ride to Save the Children. While riders can sign up to complete routes from 30 miles to 150 miles long, the average is about 45 miles.
"This race is a great opportunity for us to support our global charity of choice and help our colleagues get healthy," explains Alexander Lacik, President of RB North America. "People at RB have an intense drive for achievement and a desire to outperform wherever they focus. Many of our colleagues have signed up to ride more than 100 miles."
The RB/Save the Children partnership has been growing for more than a decade. Together, with RB, Save the Children has a vision to prevent diarrhoea from being one of the world's biggest causes of death in children by 2020. RB's products focus on health, hygiene and the home, making it a natural fit to support Save the Children and its programs globally.
