Raytheon Solipsys' Zeus Integrates Air Force Remotely Piloted Aircraft Activities
TEWKSBURY, Mass., Dec. 13, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Solipsys, a Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) subsidiary, was awarded a $9 million contract to deliver and install its Zeus situational awareness and collaboration system for Air Force remotely piloted aircraft (RPA).
The award responds to an urgent operational need requested by the Air Force. Zeus will be installed at 18 Air Combat Command, Air National Guard and Air Force Special Operations Command locations.
"Zeus greatly enhances the effectiveness of mission participants through previously unavailable levels of cooperation and awareness between remotely piloted aircraft and various supported military units that use RPA intelligence," said Mark Trenor, president of Raytheon Solipsys.
"Zeus provides RPA operators with a real-time correlated and fused track picture from multiple plot and track sources with collaboration and communication tools such as chat, common data formats, cursor-on-target, and the ability to fully participate in a Link-16 network," said Adam Stull, Zeus project lead at Raytheon Solipsys.
Zeus is derived from proven Raytheon Solipsys products such as its Tactical Display Framework and Multi-Source Correlator Tracker, which have been battle tested and are in use by all branches of the U.S. military services.
