Ray Shaw Joins Ryan Leadership Team as Principal; Will Support Growth of Customs and Foreign Trade Practice
DALLAS, Sept. 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Ryan, a leading global tax services firm with the largest indirect and property tax practices in North America, today announced that Ray Shaw has joined the Firm as a Principal in the Customs and Foreign Trade practice. Mr. Shaw will support the continued growth of the practice and will be based in Ryan's Dallas, Texas office.
Mr. Shaw has 43 years of experience as a customs and international trade professional serving clients in a broad range of industries specializing in the areas of global free trade zones, duty drawback, export license compliance, compliance audits, customs ruling requests, voluntary disclosures, global tariff classification, customs valuation studies, global intercompany transfer pricing, customs valuation analyses, and the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). He is a licensed and nationally permitted U.S. Customs Broker and served as the Chairman of the National Association of Foreign Trade Zones (NAFTZ) from 2005–2007. He is an active member of the Customs and Border Protection Trade Support Network and has served on the Revenue committee and the Trade Co-chair of the Entry FTZ subcommittee providing trade input concerning the implementation of the new Automated Commercial Environment (ACE). He is also a past Chairman of the National Council on International Trade Development Drawback Committee, a past President of the U.S.-Mexico Chamber of Commerce Southwest Chapter, and was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce to serve on the North Texas District Export Council.
Prior to joining Ryan, Mr. Shaw served as Senior Advisor, Global Free Trade Zones for a subsidiary of a Fortune 500 global logistics corporation. He has also held trade management positions for several Fortune 500 companies and held senior executive roles for two major national accounting firms. Mr. Shaw is a frequent speaker at programs offered by a number of global organizations, including the American Association of Exporters and Importers, World Trade Institute, American Petroleum Institute, NAFTZ, Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, US-Mexico Chamber of Commerce, Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, National Association of Importers and Exporters of Mexico, and Latin American Free Zone Committee ("CZFA").
