IWCE 2016 will be held March 21-25 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada and will feature more than 370 exhibitors showcasing the latest products and trends in the communications technology industry.
On March 24, Piett will participate in the panel discussion "Application Development for Public Safety," moderated by Kevin McGeary, consultant at Mission Critical Partners. The panel will discuss how the real benefits of LTE technology will come from the high-speed enabled applications that can be supported, despite much of the focus today among public safety communications professionals being on funding and the development of a national Public Safety Broadband network through FirstNet. The panelists will explore some of the existing applications and how they are being used, the various architectures they are built in, and the potential benefits in information sharing, situational awareness and responder safety. Attendees will also learn about apps that connect public safety with schools for additional safety measures. More information about the panel may be found here.
