Leadership Breakfast Designed to Inspire Women to Lead Fearlessly
The Women's Leadership Breakfast is an annual event created to empower women and deepen attendees' leadership presence through mindfulness. Rasmussen College has been educating primarily women since it first opened in 1900. The College believes in the power of strong communities and knows the health and strength of those communities depends on the critical support and guidance offered by organizations that work to empower individuals and change lives.
This year, Rasmussen College will donate $1,000 to Perkins' charity, Rising Star Foundation. Perkins started the Foundation in 2017 to provide vocal training and professional resources to young adults. In honoring her own childhood experiences, the College's donation will help provide vocal training and professional resources to young adults. This one-of-a-kind experience is designed to foster artistic development and unify a community of musicians of all skill levels to create and learn in a safe environment.
About the Keynote Speaker
Kat Perkins knew from a young age that performing was her dream. After seeking many musical opportunities, she moved to Minneapolis to pursue music on a professional scale. After undergoing vocal surgery, Perkins made her comeback in 2014 by auditioning and appearing on season 6 of NBC's "The Voice." Being on "The Voice" brought Perkins new avenues for success and invaluable opportunities, eventually leading her to start her nonprofit foundation, Rising Star Foundation.
