Rasmussen College Launches Radiologic Technology Program at Campuses in Tampa Bay and Minneapolis Areas

TAMPA, Fla., May 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, today announced the launch of a Radiologic Technology Associate's degree program at its Land O' Lakes/East Pasco, Fla. and Lake Elmo/Woodbury, Minn. campuses. The flexible, hands-on program is designed to help students start their career as a radiologic technologist in as few as 24 months.* Students will study anatomy, physiology, medical imaging and radiation safety while developing in-demand skills, including accurate imaging, operation of radiographic equipment and patient care and positioning. Upon graduation, students will be prepared to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification exam — a certification that is preferred by many employers. Classes begin at both the Land O' Lakes/East Pasco and Lake Elmo/Woodbury campuses in October.

Radiologic Technologists in Demand
Both Florida and Minnesota have an increasing need for highly trained radiologic technologists. According to labor analytics firm Burning Glass, there were more than 2,200 job postings for radiologic technologists over the past year in Florida and more than 650 job postings in Minnesota. Among the 2,200 job postings in Florida, around 530 postings were in the Tampa Bay metropolitan area.
