Rare Bourbon Whiskey For Charity
Only Two Weeks Remain To Request Buffalo Trace Millennium Barrel Bottles
FRANKFORT, Franklin County, Ky., July 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The clock is ticking for non-profit organizations to request a Millennium Barrel Bottle from Buffalo Trace Distillery. This special whiskey barrel was filled on Dec. 31, 1999 and aged in Warehouse V, the world's only bonded single barrel aging warehouse. Nearly twelve years later, that barrel has yielded 174 bottles of bourbon, which the Distillery is offering to charitable organizations at no charge to auction off and raise money for their causes.
Each Millennium Barrel bottle has been packaged in an individually numbered hardwood showcase box that includes a piece of this historic barrel's charred oak stave and brochure explaining the significance of this collector's edition.
This commemorative bottling of the Buffalo Trace Millennium Barrel is not available in stores. Bottles are only available to non-profit organizations wishing to raise funds for their charity. Non-profit organizations can request a bottle online at www.buffalotracemillennium.com. The deadline to submit applications is July 26th. Recipients of these bottles shall be notified by email on August 1st. Bottles will be shipped free of charge in August and recipients will have until Dec. 31, 2011 to auction their bottle.
"We really hope whiskey enthusiasts and collectors will help some deserving non-profit groups raise serious money," said Kris Comstock, Buffalo Trace Brand Manager. "These 174 bottles are beautiful and the bourbon tastes amazing. Our goal is to raise $200,000 for charity!"
