The global rankings, released this week, show results for the whole of 2009, including four Australasian agencies in the Top 20. RAPP New Zealand was ranked 10th in the world.
New Zealand as a nation was also recognized as one of the top five countries for direct marketing.
The rankings announcement comes on the heels of a great year for RAPP, with work that has been internationally recognized for a broad range of clients. Global awards have included Cannes, John Caples and DMA ECHOs, as well as such New Zealand awards as EFFIES, Axis and RSVPs.
RAPP Executive Creative Director Wayne Pick said, "It's been a vintage year for New Zealand in terms of global recognition and this just continues to reinforce NZ's international standing with two Kiwi agencies in the top 10. I'm especially proud of RAPP New Zealand's spot at No. 10 given the size and respective budgets of some of the international agencies we're up against."
The Won Report is part of The Big Won, a database which registers agency success at advertising awards shows around the world. This year the register logged 7,123 campaigns which have won around 12,000 awards for 3,544 art directors, 3,466 copywriters and 3,054 creative directors from over 50 shows. Rankings are calculated as every award entered into the database is allocated points with more points going to large international awards shows such as Cannes.
Awards shows are separated into four tiers. Tier 1 is made up of global shows such as Cannes or (for DM) The John Caples awards. Tier 2 is for semi-global shows such as D&AD or The One Show, Tier 3 is for regional shows which would include FIAP, Golden Drum and EPICA. Tier 4 comprises local shows such as the BIG Awards in the UK, Creative Circle in Denmark, les Cubes for direct marketing in France and Axis awards in New Zealand.
