Range Rover Evoque shows better off-road chops than Porsche

Things seem bleak for the Range Rover Evoque early because it is giving up some size and potential towing ability plus 100 horsepower. The Evoque has a turbocharged, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine that makes 240 horsepower. On the other hand, the Porsche Macan comes in with a much larger turbocharged, 3.0-liter, V-6 that makes 340 horsepower. For many vehicles this might be too much ground to make up. While the 2014 Macan may have a larger engine that only gets larger and more powerful as one goes up the trim ladder as well as a finely tuned sport suspension built by some of the best automotive engineers in the world, it still is not a Range Rover. The Evoque may not be supercharged or be able to produce several hundred horsepower, but it retains enough Land Rover DNA that it can handle most trails thanks to the innovative Terrain Management system. The Macan's off-road system is an air adjustable suspension that is only available as an add-on accessory.
