Randy McDonough Named 2016 Willard B. Simmons Independent Pharmacist Of The Year By NCPA

NCPA's Independent Pharmacist of the Year award is given annually to an independent pharmacist who has demonstrated exemplary leadership and commitment to independent pharmacy and to their community. It is named in honor of Willard B. Simmons, a former executive secretary of NCPA and long-time trustee of its foundation. This marks the eighth year that Upsher-Smith has sponsored and been on hand to present the award.

McDonough, who is board-certified in geriatrics and as a pharmacotherapy specialist, is the co-owner of Towncrest Pharmacy, Solon Towncrest, Towncrest Compounding Pharmacies, and Innovative Pharmacy Solutions. He oversees Towncrest Pharmacy's clinical services program, including Medication Therapy Management (MTM), nursing home consulting, wellness screening, immunizations, and adherence services. McDonough has developed, implemented and provided quality assurance for many clinical programs, and has also published and presented extensively on the subject of pharmaceutical care and MTM in the community pharmacy setting.
