Randstad US earns American Staffing Association award for outstanding corporate social responsibility program
Hire Hope program recognized for training and job placement services benefiting at-risk women
ATLANTA, Oct. 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Randstad US has earned a 2016 American Staffing Association Care Award for its Hire Hope corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, which provides career-readiness training and job placement services to underserved and at-risk women.
Randstad's commitment to CSR has been a part of the company's fabric since its founding in 1960. It strategically partners with other organizations that complement the company's efforts to shape the world of work and benefit the communities in which Randstad operates. The Hire Hope program, executed in partnership with the Empowered Living Academy (ELA), helps participants flourish by utilizing the knowledge and professional experience gained during career-readiness curriculum to reintegrate into the economy in a positive way. Launched in February 2014, the program is currently being piloted in Atlanta, where Randstad US is headquartered, and has resulted in the majority of graduates accepting job opportunities throughout the local community.
"As one of the largest HR services and staffing companies in the United States, Randstad constantly strives to contribute in programs like Hire Hope that reflect the company's commitment to shape the world of work," said Linda Galipeau, CEO of Randstad North America. "The program has been successful because of the commitment of our employees – over 100 Randstad employees have dedicated more than 2,000 volunteer hours to the program since its inception two years ago. We are proud of the program, the Hire Hope graduates, our employees and this award and look forward to continually serving and helping this community of people who need our support integrating back into society in safe and meaningful ways."
The ASA Care Awards recognize outstanding CSR initiatives—business processes that produce an overall positive effect on society—among American Staffing Association member staffing firms, associate members (staffing industry suppliers) and regional councils and affiliated chapters. The national awards program honors initiatives that involve employee training and professional development, community engagement, "green" business practices, philanthropy and more.
ASA Care Award honorees, selected by a panel of CSR experts, will be celebrated at Staffing World® 2016, the ASA convention and expo, Oct. 25–27 in San Diego.
