RADWIN Secures Copa América, South America's Biggest Football Event

TEL AVIV, Israel, October 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --

RADWIN today announced that it helped secure the Copa América football games which took place in Chile between June 11 and July 4. Lionel Messi, Alexis Sanchez and Neymar were just some of the players that competed in the continent's biggest football event. As part of tightened security measures in the stadiums, RADWIN 2000 Point-to-Point (PtP) equipment was installed in the Sausalito Stadium in Viña del Mar, connecting high resolution video cameras to the control center. Global Links was the system integrator of the project, and turnkey solution provider Transworld was in charge of project distribution.

Jose Roa, head of the Chilean government's 'Safe Stadium Plan', stated that the plan's aim was to: "create a framework so the football community can enjoy a safe party, and exclude from the stadiums those who have set themselves apart from the football community." Delivering high quality, high resolution video in real time, RADWIN 2000 PtP armed security personnel in the control center with actionable surveillance information and situational awareness that helped ensure the safety of the competing teams and the tens of thousands of attendees who turned up to the games.
