Radware Wins Third Consecutive NGN Magazine Leadership Award
Radware's Alteon 10000 application switch recognized for outstanding achievements in next-generation network technology
MAHWAH, N.J., May 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Radware (Nasdaq: RDWR), a leading provider of integrated application delivery solutions for business-smart networking, today announced that Technology Marketing Corporation's (TMC®) NGN Magazine, the industry's most informative resource dedicated to the next generation of communications technologies, has named Radware's Alteon® 10000 a winner of the 2011 NGN Leadership Awards. This prestigious honor represents the third consecutive year that Radware has been recognized by NGN Magazine.
The NGN Leadership Awards acknowledge outstanding achievement in IP Communications, highlighting the products, services and technologies that make the deployment of next-generation networks possible. Radware's Alteon 10000 application switch is specifically designed for carriers, Internet service providers and cloud providers. The Alteon 10000 is built upon an Advanced Telecommunications Computing Architecture (ATCA) compliant chassis to meet the most demanding requirements and regulations while also provides the industry's highest layer 7 throughput (up to 80 Gbps) for unparalleled application scalability, availability and performance.
"Carriers, ISPs and cloud providers are all facing profound shifts in their business models as the explosive growth in Internet, video and mobile data traffic continues to drive network infrastructure transformations as well as fundamental changes in operating and revenue generation methods," said Nir Ilani, Product Marketing Director, Application Delivery, Radware. "The Alteon 10000 is designed from the ground up to specifically meet these types of challenges, and receiving the 2011 NGN Leadership Award is symbolic of our efforts to deliver best-in-class, resilient carrier-grade application delivery solutions."
More about the Alteon 10000
Radware's Alteon 10000, which offers high MTBF and is NEBS-3 compliant, provides superior layer 4-7 performance, complete application delivery services, advanced application acceleration capabilities and on demand scalability via the ODS-4 platform. With 15 ports of 10GE and 8 ports of 1GE, the Alteon 10000 provides extensive port offerings and wide set of connectivity alternatives. The 6-slots chassis of Alteon 10000 accommodates 4 payload blades, each providing 20Gbps of throughput scalable on demand up to a total of 80Gbps. All the chassis blades are hot swappable, allowing replacement without stopping the entire chassis.
The Alteon 10000 is a key technology enabler for both Radware's Mobile Service Edge (MSE) and Virtual Application Delivery Infrastructure (VADI) strategies. Radware's MSE strategy enables mobile operators to optimize 4G/long term evolution (LTE) networks for fast performance and enhanced quality of experience (QoE), while concurrently supporting diverse content delivery, rapidly changing capacity requirements, and new value-added service (VAS) delivery. Radware's VADI strategy allows cloud providers (in addition to high-end enterprises) to undergo large-scale consolidation initiatives by supporting up to 80 virtual ADC instances with complete isolation between the instances, resulting in significant CAPEX and OPEX reduction with performance predictability.
"Radware continues to be a leader in bringing next-generation IP Communications technologies to market, and we are pleased to recognize the Alteon 10000 application switch with a 2011 NGN Leadership Award," said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC. "It was a unanimous decision to honor Radware for its leadership in next-generation communications technologies, and we look forward to watching them continue to support service providers in their efforts to deliver services, applications and content to their customers."
