Radware Raises the Bar for Virtual ADCs Introducing New Services to its Virtual Application Delivery Infrastructure (VADI)
OS 28 upgrade offers physical-to-virtual migration ease, virtual-to-virtual transition agility, vADC templates, and instance-based redundancy to drive efficiency and readiness of virtualized and cloud data centers
MAHWAH, N.J., April 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Radware (NASDAQ: RDWR), a leading provider of integrated application delivery solutions for business-smart networking, today announced that it has unveiled the next phase of its Virtual Application Delivery Infrastructure (VADI™) strategy with the addition of ADC-VX™ OS 28. This exclusive upgrade provides unique services, which are designed to substantially ease the transition to virtual data centers and to cloud computing environments while increasing staff efficiency and business agility.
As an important next step to Radware's VADI strategy, this upgrade incorporates several key services for companies of varying sizes, budgets and sectors to make a successful and seamless move to towards virtualization and cloud computing adoption. These services include: physical-to-virtual (P2V) migration - for converting traditional dedicated Application Delivery Controllers (ADCs) into virtual ADC instances (vADCs); virtual-to-virtual (V2V) migration - for greater agility in moving vADCs across different data center computing resources; market-first vADC templates for quick, replication of web services to customers with pre-defined configurations; and vADC service redundancy to overcome potential hardware failure with an instance-based approach.
"Radware's continued stream of innovations bring the same virtualization benefits to the application delivery market that server virtualization did for the server market," said Amir Peles, CTO, Radware. "By introducing market-changing technologies and approaches, we're helping customers move beyond current-state limitations, complexities and challenges in the industry's virtualization evolution, so they can more quickly and confidently enjoy the benefits they seek."
A Closer Look at Key Enablers for SMBs, Enterprises & Cloud Providers:
*Reduce physical to virtual migration risk and costs. Specifically tailored to assist with reducing hardware cost, implementation risk, and staff learning with the migration of physical ADCs to vADCs. Also simplifies disaster recovery design and development of cloud burst use cases for more complex needs.
*Achieve better agility with virtual-to-virtual migration services. Effortlessly move vADCs across computing resources in the data center with reserved capacity and network information for the transition from testing to production, reduced maintenance down-time, necessary consolidation, and greener IT.
*Foster cloud automation or quick replication of web services. This service brings to application delivery virtualization, concepts already familiar in the use of virtual machine (VM) templates. New to the market, vADC templates not only allow companies to define the configuration of their vADCs (complete with virtual hardware resources, software, and Layer 4-7 policies) but also save them as a reusable templates for quick and reliable replication of web services throughout their virtualized data center or cloud environment.
*Overcome potential hardware failures with service-based redundancy. This new instance-based approach to service redundancy frees customers from the traditional approach of "1+1" physical device redundancy by allowing "n+n" redundancy across virtual and physical components.
The release of ADC-VX OS 28 comes quickly on the heels of Radware's initial introduction of its VADI strategy at the end of 2010 adding four new services to the offering. Radware has dedicated itself to continuously invest in and deliver what customers need most based on its deep understanding of their business and technical goals and ongoing customer collaboration.
