Radware Joins OpenStack Community
Radware Joins the Effort to Develop the Standard Open Cloud Operating System and Speed Innovation in Cloud Technologies
MAHWAH, New Jersey, December 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --
Radware (NASDAQ: RDWR), a leading provider of application delivery and application security solutions for virtual and cloud data centers, today announced that it has joined OpenStack™, a global community of developers collaborating on an open source cloud operating system.
As workloads continue to transition into the cloud, there is a greater need for both public and private clouds to become more efficient by increasing application performance while reducing the risk of security breaches. As the emerging open standard for cloud infrastructure, OpenStack complements Radware's application delivery and application security solutions to be implemented across public, private and hybrid cloud environments.
"Application acceleration and attack prevention capabilities in the cloud are essential to ensure the smooth working of mission-critical applications," said Avi Chesla, chief technical officer, Radware. "Enterprises of all sizes that operate within public and private clouds will be able to benefit from Radware's expertise in application delivery, network and application security. We look forward to working with all companies involved with OpenStack, contributing code and providing architectural inputs based on our best practices in the areas of application delivery and information security for the future of cloud eco-systems."
OpenStack has grown to be a global software community of developers representing more than 130 companies, collaborating on a standard and massively scalable open source cloud operating system. The project aims to deliver solutions for all types of clouds by being simple to implement, massively scalable and feature rich. The technology consists of a series of interrelated projects delivering various components for a cloud infrastructure solution.
The news of Radware joining OpenStack comes on the heels of the Company's recent introduction of the industry's first application delivery fabric for the IT-as-a-Service economy. Radware ADC Fabric™ breaks new ground in virtualized application delivery by leveraging the concept of a virtual ADC (vADC) resource pool across both single and multiple data centers. By implementing Radware ADC Fabric within virtual data centers and replacing traditional ADCs with vADC instances, IT managers can now assign a vADC instance per application, department or customer. This essentially creates a fully virtualized application silo with full fault isolation for its own dedicated components (servers, storage, and vADCs), guaranteeing application performance and service level agreements. The ADC Fabric includes Radware AppShape™, a technology providing an application perspective for shaping the application delivery tools within the data center to meet specific application needs. AppShape dramatically accelerates the rollout of new business applications and services, which can be integrated into the virtual data center and cloud eco-systems. Radware's ADC Fabric empowers IT managers, allowing them to be focused on business services rather than on IT products and hardware.
