Radio Flyer's Taking Flight Short Film Receives Emmy Nomination
The Maker of the Iconic Little Red Wagon™ Continues to Inspire Imagination with a Tribute to its Heritage
CHICAGO, March 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Chicago-based Radio Flyer is proud to announce its animated short film Taking Flight was nominated for a 2017 Daytime Emmy Award in two categories, Outstanding Special Class Animated Program and Outstanding Directing in an Animated Program. Originally debuted in 2016, the film has received more than 20 awards and accolades from international and local film festivals.
The film is inspired by the life and heritage of the inventor of the beloved Little Red Wagon, Antonio Pasin. In the fictional tribute, what begins as a small boy's boring day with Grandpa turns into a larger-than-life journey of imaginative play. Through the power of imagination and an epic adventure, a boy learns to be a kid, a father learns to be a dad and a grandfather reminds us all what childhood is about.
"It's a great honor to be nominated for such a prestigious award," said Robert Pasin, Chief Wagon Officer of Radio Flyer. "The short film brings to life what Radio Flyer has meant to families during our 100 year history; bringing generations together through imagination and play."
Academy Award®-winning director Brandon Oldenburg led the project with executive producer Robert Pasin and producer Lampton Enochs.
