RacinDirt Holeshots Live Racing Broadbcasts with Mushroom Networks' Streamer Solution
With Mushroom Networks' Streamer 3G/4G Broadband Bonding appliance, the dirt racing organizer is generating new revenue by broadcasting live events from the field to the Web
SAN DIEGO,, Feb. 27, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Dirt track racing is the single most common form of auto racing in the United States. There are more than a thousand tracks in the United States, and many more thousands of fans. To ensure fans never have to miss a single race, media site RacinDirt is using a 3G/4G bonding device from Mushroom Networks, Inc., innovators of Broadband Bonding™ technology, to broadcast live events from the field.
Mushroom Networks' Streamer bonds 3G and 4G wireless data cards from any carrier into a single IP connection that is optimized for live streaming – from virtually anywhere – of high-quality, high-definition (HD) video and audio content to the Web. Up to eight connections can be combined to increase the available bandwidth for HD-quality video and to provide high reliability video streaming.
At tracks from Minnesota to Texas, RacinDirt manages racing events featuring Dirt-Modified stock cars. With Streamer, RacinDirt now broadcasts the races as they happen, and charge subscribers for the live, high-quality racing streams. RacinDirt is bonding several Verizon and AT&T cards to stream the live video, and the bonding capability ensures more bandwidth and boosted reliability: if any card fails the outage is shielded from the stream, eliminating any interruption to the video.
Not only does Streamer facilitate a reliable, robust IP tunnel, it allows RacinDirt to hook up and control three cameras and a multi-camera live video switcher – in effect creating a portable production and content distribution system that can work from any race track. Streamer's built-in WAN Ethernet port and built-in WiFi enables RacinDirt to stream live video from tradeshows as well.
"Mushroom Networks' Streamer gives us the portable, optimized and reliable bandwidth we need, so we can give fans, family and friends who can't make it to the actual event; the live, high-quality racing video they want, as the race is happening," says Trenton Berry, CEO and co-owner of RacinDirt. "Not only that, we are now able to generate new revenue streams by charging for live events."
"We designed Streamer to seamlessly integrate with videographers existing workflow without any modification to their equipment or video servers – just replace the Internet connection in your existing video streaming setup with Streamer, and start streaming," says Dr. Cahit Jay Akin, CEO and Co-founder of Mushroom Networks. "Now, with Mushroom Networks' Streamer, RacinDirt fans never have to miss a single minute of any race."
