R. Gil Kerlikowske, White House Drug Czar, to Speak on 2010 National Drug Control Strategy at the National Press Club on May 12
WASHINGTON, May 7 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- R. Gil Kerlikowske, director of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, will address a Speakers Press Conference at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 12 in the Fourth Estate Restaurant.

Kerlikowske will speak on the Obama administration's new national drug control strategy, due to be announced May 10. His remarks will be followed by a moderated question-and-answer session.
Kerlikowske was sworn in as the nation's sixth "Drug Czar" on May 7, 2009. He came to the post with 37 years of experience in law enforcement and drug policy experience. Beginning in the Saint Petersburg (Florida) Police Department, he went on to serve as Chief of Police in Port St. Lucie and Fort Pierce (Florida), Police Commissioner of Buffalo, Deputy Director of the U.S. Department of Justice's Office of Community Oriented Policing Services and finally as Chief of Police for Seattle.
