Comedians Colin Quinn and Gary Gulman to perform
NEW YORK, Sept. 29, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- R Baby Foundation—the nonprofit uniquely focused on saving babies' lives by improving pediatric emergency care—will celebrate 10 successful years at its Stand Up and Celebrate Gala on November 30 at The Plaza Hotel in New York City.
Featuring performances by comedian and former Saturday Night Live cast member Colin Quinn, and Last Comic Standing finalist Gary Gulman, the event will hilariously kick off the holiday season and directly fund R Baby Foundation's emergency healthcare programs. The evening includes dinner, cocktails, a live auction, and more. Tickets may be purchased at www.rbabyfoundation.org.
The foundation has raised almost $10 million in 10 years, with 90 cents of every dollar going to improve pediatric emergency care. The organization has trained and educated more than 6,000 doctors through programs at 750 hospitals worldwide. Other achievements can be found here.
"We are profoundly humbled by the embrace and support we've received during our first decade," said co-founder and co-president Andrew Rabinowitz. "When we started this journey, we only knew that we had to be part of the solution. Today, we're proud to have positively affected the lives of more than one million children each year."
Phyllis Rabinowitz, co-founder and co-president continued: "We are heartened by the amazing feedback we've gotten from the doctors we work with on how R Baby's support has impacted their patients. It's documented that many ERs aren't fully prepared for pediatric emergencies. We'll continue to work closely with experts in the field to fund life-saving education, training and equipment to emergency rooms around the country."
About R Baby Foundation
R Baby Foundation was founded in 2006 by Andrew and Phyllis Rabinowitz after the death of their daughter Rebecca Ava Rabinowitz at just nine days old. After emergency room doctors dismissed her symptoms as a common cold, when in fact she was battling a life-threatening virus, the family turned tragedy into action. Phyllis and Andrew joined an esteemed group of medical professionals to address and correct critical challenges in the emergency pediatric healthcare landscape in the United States and beyond. The foundation funds programs to bring training and tools to community emergency rooms, and supports groundbreaking efforts to standardize pediatric emergency rooms.
