MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Nov. 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Quotient Technology Inc. (NYSE: QUOT), formerly Coupons.com Incorporated, and nonprofit KaBOOM! are joining forces to build a playspace at Grover Cleveland Park in San Leandro, CA., on November 4, 2016. More than 200 volunteers are expected to participate, bringing a much-needed place to play in the in East Bay suburb of San Francisco. The playspace is Quotient's third consecutive build in partnership with KaBOOM!.
"At Quotient, we're committed to helping our neighbors and all kids get a fair start in life," said Michele Boal, cofounder and chief philanthropy officer at Quotient. "Active kids create active minds. We're proud of our continued partnership with KaBOOM! as we continue to make it a priority to do our part to build stronger communities."
Grover Cleveland Park is the only space available for children to play in the Davis East neighborhood in San Leandro. The next closest park is over one mile away and, for many, would require crossing a highway. The existing playground equipment is over 25 years old and no longer safe for children to play on. The design of the new playspace is inspired by drawings done by children from a special event held in September. They were encouraged to draw the playspaces of their dreams.
"KaBOOM! is dedicated to fostering healthy and productive lives with kids through play," said James Seigal, CEO of KaBOOM!. "Quotient has been a great partner for us over the years. Together, with the city of San Leandro, we continue our mission of giving children the balanced and active play they need to thrive."
In prior years, Quotient has constructed playspaces and more at Roses in Concrete Community School in Oakland and at Bell Street Park in East Palo Alto. The playspace builds are part of Quotient's commitment to giving all children the opportunity to get a fair start in life.
Build day begins at 8:30 a.m. PDT on Friday, November 4, 2016, at Grover Cleveland Park located at 862 O'Donnell Avenue in San Leandro, CA 94577. For more information or to RSVP, please email [email protected] or call at (650) 396-8821.
