QuintessenceLabs Wins ACS Canberra region 2011 ICT Innovation Award
CANBERRA, Australia, Sept. 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- QuintessenceLabs, the leader in quantum communications technology for networking, communications, national security and defense, has won the 2011 Australian Computer Society (Canberra region) award for ICT Innovation.
QuintessenceLabs, the leader in ultra-secure quantum communications, has won the Australian Computer Society (Canberra region) 2011 ICT Innovation award for its Quantum Security Product Family. The Quantum Security Product Family (QSPF) provides functionality including key generation, key distribution, key management, and link encryption. By taking advantage of the unique properties of energy and matter as described by quantum mechanics, QuintessenceLabs has developed highly secure key management and encryption products. The Quantum Key Manager manages enterprise keys for data-in-transit, data-in-use, and data-at-rest applications. The Quantum Network Encryptor protects data in transit across network links.
QSPF incorporates innovative quantum technology developed by QuintessenceLabs. The security of QSPF is guaranteed by the laws of physics, making it immune to computational and mathematical advances that threaten the security of other conventional cryptographic systems. The Quantum Key Manager (QKM) appliance easily integrates with current IT and network infrastructure and devices. By supporting the OASIS Key Management Interoperability Protocol (KMIP), QKM interoperates with third party devices and applications - achieving true, multi-vendor interoperability for management of key material, security policy enforcement, common audit and logging, and separation of duty for a wide range of cryptographic devices and applications.
"We are honored to receive this prestigious award from the ACS and are delighted by the recognition of the deep innovation embodied in our products. We believe QuintessenceLab' next generation security technology is poised to play an important role in defending against increasingly frequent and sophisticated cyber threats" said Chris O'Neil, Chief Marketing Officer, QuintessenceLabs. Commenting on the award, Anthony Wong, President of the Australian Computer Society (ACS), said "The ACS congratulates QuintessenceLabs on their achievement. QuintessenceLabs research has contributed a "quantum leap" to human innovation by combining quantum physics with the art of cryptographic science. ICT innovation should be recognized for its ability to foster innovation in Australian business and deliver potential returns for the economy".
