Questar Assessment Names Nate Ober as Its Chief Technology Officer
MINNEAPOLIS, March 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Questar Assessment Inc., a K–12 assessment solutions provider focused on building a bridge between learning and accountability, announced today that Nate Ober has been promoted to the position of chief technology officer.
With Ober's proven record in product development, and program and project execution focused on the application of mobile, modular, and configurable technologies, he has a strong vision for Questar's product development that includes innovating in automation, customization, and reusable processes and software systems in ways that continue to drive growth and sustainability. As Questar's chief architect and director of product development since June 2015, Ober has already implemented automation policies to increase efficiencies; stabilized development processes by streamlining communication protocols; and leveraged his deep industry knowledge to deploy multiple high-stakes assessment administrations.
"In our search for a new chief technology officer, continuity and the ability to provide a seamless transition for staff — and clients — rose to the top of our list of needs," said Jamie Post Candee, Questar's president and chief executive officer. "Since joining Questar last June, Nate has introduced a new architectural product vision to support the company's unprecedented growth in 2015. He's also proven himself to be a capable leader and enthusiastic advocate for continuous improvement — making us a stronger organization for his efforts — and we are pleased to welcome him into the role of chief technology officer."
Before joining Questar, Ober served as a senior technical project manager for the American Institutes for Research (AIR), where he was responsible for three product development teams concerned with the development of assessment related software and the establishment of a clear vision for architectural and user experiences for those products. Prior to AIR, he held positions of increasing responsibility, often focused upon the development of formative and summative assessments, with the State of Utah.
Ober received his degree from the University of Utah, and has contributed to the aQTI standard as a member of the IMS Global Learning Consortium. He is based at Questar's headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
