The artist created the "Beloved Poppy Earrings" to symbolize Bhutan's national flower, the beautiful blue poppy. The flower represents harmony, endless peace, and the non-materialistic pursuit of happiness. It inspired Anna to create this piece of jewelry as a wish of love and peace for the new Queen's marriage. The earrings are cast in 18K white gold, with a ruby center stone surrounded by sapphires, paraiba, and diamonds.
The exceptional pieces within Anna Hu's collection are works of art with the designer using gem stones as paint. Anna's design process follows the old-world French Haute Joaillerie approach but with highly contemporary designs. Anna begins each piece by creating drawings, renderings and watercolor paintings, then incorporating computer technology to format an exact replica of her intended design. Anna's art works combine inspirational elements of classical music, whimsical imagination, and Western and Chinese art; they constantly push the boundaries of innovation through the uses of new metals and highly complex and unique designs that only a handful of skilled craftsmen in the world are able to bring to life.
