Q3 FY 2014 net income attributable to Micron was $806 million, or $0.68 per diluted share, compared to $43 million, or $0.04 per diluted share, in Q3 FY 2013. On June 23, 2014, Applied Materials, Inc. (Applied Materials) announced that it has received stockholders approval on its proposed business combination with Tokyo Electron Limited (Tokyo Electron). According to Applied Materials, approximately 99% of the shares voting at the Company's special meeting of stockholders voted to adopt the Business Combination Agreement, representing 78% of shares of Applied Materials' common stock outstanding as of the May 9, 2014 record date for the meeting. First Solar, Inc. Analyst Notes
On June 17, 2014, First Solar, Inc. (First Solar) and BELECTRIC GmbH (BELECTRIC) announced the connection of three utility-scale power plants to the UK grid. The projects are expected to produce approximately 33.9 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity per year, sufficient to supply energy needs of about 10,200 average homes.
