Analyst Update: Financial and Operational Results
U.S. stocks closed virtually flat on Wednesday, amid disappointing monthly retail sales data. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.04%, to finish at 18,060.49, the S&P 500 edged down 0.03%, to 2,098.48, while the NASDAQ Composite rose modestly by 0.11%, to end the session at 4,981.69. European stocks mostly closed lower on Wednesday, despite positive economic growth data. Germany's DAX 30 declined 1.05%, and France's CAC 40 slipped 0.26%. In contrast, London's FTSE 100 closed 0.23% higher on Wednesday, mainly reflecting upbeat unemployment data. Meanwhile, Asian markets were mixed on Wednesday, amid weaker Chinese economic data. The Shanghai Composite and Hong Kong's Hang Seng were both down on Wednesday, while Japan's Nikkei closed higher.
On May 7, 2015, Lionbridge Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of globalization solutions, announced its Q1 FY15 financial results for the quarter ended March 31, 2015. The Company reported record total revenues of $136.8 million, a year-on-year increase of $16.6 million or 14% compared to Q1 FY14.
BlackBerry Limited, a global leader in mobile communications, in a press release dated May 7, 2015 announced that it has completed its acquisition of WatchDox, a data security company offering the most secure enterprise file-sync-and-share (EFSS) solutions on any device. This acquisition expands BlackBerry's enterprise portfolio to provide the most secure end-to-end mobile solution.
On May 7, 2015 Canadian Solar Inc. (CSI), a Canada-based Company which designs, develops, and manufactures solar wafers, cells and solar power products, reported its financial results for the first quarter 2015 ended March 31, 2015. Net revenue for the quarter came in at $860.9 million, exceeding the guidance for the quarter.
In a Company press release dated May 5, 2015, Cheetah Mobile Inc., a leading mobile internet company, announced that it will release its Q1 2015 financial results on Tuesday, May 19, 2015, before market opens.
On May 7, 2015, Ubiquiti Networks, Inc. announced its Q3 FY15 results for period ended March 31, 2015. While total revenue was $147.5 million, down from $153.1 million in Q2 FY15, Service Provider Technology revenues increased over 6% in the quarter, fuelled by a strong demand for AirMAX® AC products.
