Walgreen Company Analyst Notes
On March 5, 2014, Walgreen Company (Walgreens) released its February 2014 store sales report. According to Walgreens, its sales rose 5.0% YoY to $6.05 billion, while total front-end sales were up 3.0% YoY and comparable store front-end sales were up 2% YoY. Walgreens also released its Q2 FY 2014 (period ended February 28, 2014) total sales figures. The Company registered total sales of $19.6 billion for the quarter, up 5.2% YoY. Comparable store sales went up 4.5% YoY while front-end comparable store sales grew 2.0% YoY in Q2 FY 2014. Prescriptions filled at comparable stores and comparable pharmacy sales increased 2.4% YoY and 6.1% YoY, respectively.
