QuantX Management Redefines Emerging Hedge Fund Manager Space

LONDON and NEW YORK, Aug. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- QuantX Management LLP, a London and New York based multi-manager allocation platform defining the global emerging hedge fund sector ("QuantX"), today announced that it has hired two leading hedge fund veterans to strengthen its core investment and operational team: Alexander Masotti as its President and Chief Operating Officer and Robert Parauda as its Chief Investment Officer. 

Both Mr. Masotti and Mr. Parauda join QuantX from institutional asset management firms.  Alex Masotti joins QuantX having performed a variety of leadership roles in operational, legal, compliance, and investor relations at two multi-billion dollar asset management firms.  One was a European based quantitative hedge fund, the other, Copper River Management, L.P., was a short-biased equity hedge fund.  He was most recently Chief Operating Officer at Park City Capital, LLC, an emerging long/short equity hedge fund.  Rob Parauda joins QuantX from Lanx Management, a $350 million fund of funds, where he was a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager responsible for portfolio construction, research, due diligence and risk management.  Prior to Lanx, he was Global Head of Equity at Deutsche Bank's DB Absolute Return Strategies, a fund of funds group with more than $5 billion in AUM and more than 110 fund allocations.

About Alexander V. Masotti
Alex Masotti was Chief Operating Officer at Park City Capital, LLC, a US based, long/short equity hedge fund.  Before that he performed legal, compliance, business development, investor relations and operational roles at two multi-billion dollar hedge funds. From 2009 to 2012, he was Head of Marketing & Investor Relations at a multi-billion dollar European, quantitative hedge fund.  He led a global team based in Cyprus and New York.  From 2006 to 2009 he was Associate General Counsel / Deputy Chief Compliance Officer / Head of Investor Relations & Marketing at Copper River Management, LP, a multi-billion dollar short-biased and short-only equity hedge fund based in the US.  From 2001 to 2006 he was at American Express, first on the legal side and then on the business side.  He began the first 10 years of his career practicing law in New York City, both in the public and private sector, as an Assistant District Attorney and civil litigation attorney.  Alex is a United States Marine Corps veteran having served as a Counterintelligence Officer during the Iraq War.  He has a BA from the City University of New York and JD from Georgetown University Law Center.

Rob Parauda was most recently Managing Director/Portfolio Manager at Lanx Management, LLC, a US based hedge fund of funds. Prior to that, he was Global Head of Equity at Deutsche Bank – DB Absolute Return Strategies and Portfolio Manager of three long/short equity portfolios from 2001-2009, where he had Global Equity responsibilities for a fund of funds group with $5B+ AUM and 110+ funds allocated across all strategies. From 1993 to 2001, he was a Vice President at Bankers Trust, assuming multiple roles including Controller, Business Manager and Investment Analyst. He has a BA and MBA from Fordham University.
