Quantum Telecom Inc.: Forumtel Launches a Field Trial-of its "Sticky SIM"
NEW YORK, December 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --
Quantum Telecom Inc. d/b/a Forum Mobile (Nasdaq: QTMI) announced today that Forumtel, the US MVNO for the travel industry, has started field trials with their "Sticky SIM" offering. The trial began in Miami, Florida as a part of Forumtel's overall long distance communication campaign directed primarily towards the Latin American community. As part of the trial, Forumtel began offering its "Sticky SIM" to Miami based customers calling Mexico. The new "Sticky SIM" offering will give customers the ability to dial directly from their mobile handsets without need for calling cards or access number dialing while still offering competitive pricing.
The trial is the first phase of a comprehensive program launch. Forumtel's turnover from this project in 2012 is estimated by it at $5-10 Million.
"We are anxiously waiting to fully launch our offering" said Mr. Ami Segal, Forumtel Chairman and owner of the Forum Group. "The investments made during the past year result in our current ability to rapidly integrate telecommunication platforms".
The success of the trial was enabled by Forum Mobile ability to deliver a custom, turnkey solution. Through the knowledge and expertise of its technical team and partners, Forum Mobile provided an integrated flexible and redundant switching and billing web-based platform. Earlier this month Forum mobile started the implementation of an MVNO in Israel.
Mr. Benny Yehezkel, Executive VP of Forum Mobile, said: "We work with each of our partners and customers to help them reach their business goals. We are proud to be able to launch this trial within two months."
